Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Patch Notes September 6, 2023

Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 received an update that included several meta weapon nerfs, bug fixes, and gameplay adjustments.

GLOBAL

ERROR CORRECTION

  • Fixed an issue where the Daemon Akimbo 9mm attachment would not unlock. This fix will resolve the issue for players who have not yet met the unlock requirement. We are still working on fixes for players who should have received Akimbo but did not unlock it.
  • Fixed an issue where the displayed number of operators was inconsistent between users and platforms. 
  • Fixed an issue that required the player to right-click the “Play Again” button for it to work correctly on PC.
  • Fixed an issue where Graves’ Shadow 0-1 and Shadow 0-1 BlackCell operator skins looked the same.
  • Fixed an issue where the 9mm Demon could be unlocked with all headshots, not just headshots from pistols. 

WAR ZONE

WEAPON

The following weapon balance changes are only reflected in Battle Royale modes.

» Combat rifles «  

  • Kronen Shkval
    • Melee damage reduced.
    • Neck damage multiplier reduced.
    • Upper body multiplier reduced.

» Light machine guns «

  • PKK
    • Melee damage reduced.
    • Melee damage range increased.
    • Head damage multiplier increased.
    • Neck damage multiplier reduced.
    • Torso damage multipliers have been reduced.
    • Limb damage multipliers have been reduced.

GAMEPLAY

  • Reduced MRAP damage from Precision Airstrike, preventing them from being destroyed in one shot in Armored Royale.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed various issues where information was incorrect or missing when using COD Caster.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause packet spikes and slow game performance on Vondel.
  • Fixed an issue where multiple objects could float in the air in Zaya Observatory. 
  • Fixed an issue where the collision with the Zaya Observatory building could be missing, leading to an exploit.

Battle Royale

  • Fixed an issue where in Armored Royale, when a unit’s MRAP takes fall damage, a “Vehicle Under Attack” warning will appear.
  • Fixed an issue where the respawn UI might not display correctly in Armored Royale.
  • Fixed an issue where a teammate leaving Armored Royale Quads would not lower the respawn timer for the rest of the team.
  • Fixed an issue where armor plates were not being reset from the pre-game lobby after starting a match in Armored Royale.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could return to the main menu after attempting to enter the Calling Card or Emblem sections of the Customize tab.
  • Fixed an issue where Safecracker’s Contract safes could spawn inside objects in Zay’s Observatory in Battle Royale.
  • Fixed an issue where players could enter the Sarrif Bay Black Zone without a key in Battle Royale.
  • Fixed an issue where the MRAP “Use Turret” prompt would have an increased range, interfering with or preventing interactions with buy stations and rear tire repairs in Armored Royale.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Quads “Rotation Battle Royale” playlist to display a game mode placeholder.
  • Fixed an issue where Operators could crash into each other after entering and exiting an MRAP turret in Armored Royale.

DMZ

  • Fixed an issue where the Zaya Observatory SAM site could appear on a nearby bus in the DMZ.
  • Fixed an issue where the gas canister in the bunker underneath Zay’s Observatory could not be looted in the DMZ.
  • Fixed an issue where viewing weapon progress through an insured weapon slot and then selecting “View Weapons” could return the player to the DMZ main menu . 
  • Fixed an issue where the Bounty faction mission would not track correctly when the player executed a bounty player in the DMZ.
  • Fixed an issue where players could remove backpack slots using the folding feature when looting a cache in the DMZ.
  • Fixed an issue in the DMZ where the player could simultaneously activate Level 3 and 4 upgrades while Level 4 upgrades could not be completed.
