Urzikstan is the second largest battle royale map in Warzone.

Urzikstan is a peninsula on the eastern border of the Black Sea, located in the Caucasus region of Western Asia, bordered by the United Republic of Adal to the north and northwest, the Russian Federation to the northeast, and Georgia to the east and southeast. The capital is Sahra, where the US embassy is located. The climate is predominantly arid. In November 2019, General Barkov and his forces were defeated in Georgia in a joint operation by the CIA, SAS and the Urzik militia. With Russia officially disowning Barkov, the occupation of Urzikstan finally came to an end. However, after Barkov’s death, there were still remnants of Barkov’s men in the country, who had evaded capture and continued Barkov’s unfinished work, either by joining the newly formed “Loyalty” unit under Kamarov’s command, or by going rogue and offering their services to the ultranationalist forces led by Victor Zakhaev and the newly reformed Al-Qatala under the leadership of Khaled Al-Assad.

Warzone is getting a brand new map as part of Modern Warfare 3’s first season, and fans may be wondering just how big the map is.

The Urzikstan map consists of 11 POIs, which contain completely new locations, as well as classic CoD maps hidden throughout the area. But with a plethora of new landing sites, fans are wondering how big the new map is compared to past Warzone battlegrounds.

Urzikstan Warzone is  the second largest battle royale map  in the game to date. This was confirmed by developers from CoD Next, who explained that Urzikstan is “slightly smaller than Al Mazra” and closer in size to Caldera.

Although we do not know the exact dimensions of Urzikstan, this places it between the 6,405,025 m² and 7,095,838 m² of Caldera and Al Mazra respectively. Verdansk was even smaller than Caldera, so Urzikstan can be said to be significantly larger than the original Warzone map.

Urzikstan compared to other Warzone maps:

  1. Al Mazra (7,095,838 m^2)
  2. Urzikstan (to be confirmed)
  3. Caldera (6,405,025 m^2)
  4. Verdansk (5,835,157 m^2)
  5. Vondel (2,457,056 m^2)
  6. Fortuna Fortress (240,790 m^2)
  7. Ashika Island (222,002 m^2)
  8. Revival (152,865 m^2)

While some may be disappointed to learn that Urzikstan isn’t Warzone’s biggest battle royale map to date, Raven Software senior creative director Ted Timmins has assured fans that it’s “more dense” than Al Mazra.

This means that while the map itself may not be as large, there are more POIs, buildings, and interesting landmarks packed into it.
