Modern Warfare 3: January 11th Patch Notes

Before the release of Season 1 of Reloaded, a new patch was released bringing many changes to MW3 and Zombies. Zombies players can expect minor changes to their mode thanks to server stability updates and various bug fixes.

GLOBAL

ERROR CORRECTION

  • Fixed an issue where CDL Team Kits would not unlock properly when purchased from the Store.
  • Fixed an issue where progress was not being tracked properly in the front-end menu.
  • Fixed an issue where emblems were not awarded properly for prestige level progress.
  • Fixed an issue where some Soap operator skins did not have corresponding images and text in the menu.

WARZONE

WEAPON

Please note that additional weapon customizations will be included in the Season 1 Reboot update, scheduled for release on January 17, 2024.

  • MTZ Interceptor (MWIII)
    • Maximum damage reduced from 95 to 85.
    • Minimum damage reduced from 84 to 78.

” Ammunition “

  • Snake Shot
    • This attachment will be re-enabled when the playlist is scheduled to refresh at 10:00 AM PT.
    • Damage from each pellet at maximum range has been reduced from 34 to 12.

ERROR CORRECTION

  • Fixed more collision issues with various elements throughout Urzikstan, allowing players to use, peek and shoot through them.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to duplicate equipment drop markers.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Dead Silence icon to unintentionally appear in the Kill Cam.
  • Fixed an issue allowing players to use the cash deposit tooltip in Plunder mode.
  • Fixed an issue allowing players to duplicate items in the Backpack menu.
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to get stuck in the Gulag.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the activity report to end abruptly.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some attachments to display incorrectly when installed on certain weapons .
  • Fixed an issue where the Double Kamas unlock challenge was not tracking properly.
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in players being returned to the main menu when navigating through attachments in the Weapon Workshop.

MULTIPLAYER

UIX

  • Error correction
    • Changed the descriptions of some attachments to better reflect their true effect.
    • Resolved issues that caused the player to unexpectedly return to the multiplayer menu in several scenarios.
      • View an activity report
      • Equipping with conversion kit as shown in drawing
      • Using attachment filters
    • Fixed an issue where selecting a blueprint from the Gunsmith would display the wrong weapon model.

GAMEPLAY

  • Weapon check animations no longer play when respawning in small map playlists.
    • Note. This change took effect on January 4, 2024.

PROGRESS

  • Fixed unlock requirements displayed for Throwing Star equipment.
  • Fixed unlock requirements displayed for several attachments.

    • Muzzle compensator Rival-9
  • Fixed a spelling error in the Kingslayer Kills Challenge.
  • Completing Daily Bonus Challenges will no longer display “CHALLENGE NAME MISSING” in the notification area.

CARDS

  • Afghan
    • Added additional spawn points to improve spawn selection in Team Deathmatch and Domination modes.
  • Invasion
    • Increased operator lighting to eliminate poor visibility in certain areas.
    • Adjusted spawn locations to prevent unnecessary spawn reversals when the Bus Station capture point (P3) is active in Hardpoint.
  • Meat
    • Spawn locations have been adjusted to prevent players in the Garage from killing enemies upon respawning.
  • Rust
    • The consistency of selecting high-quality spawns has been improved.
  • Sporeyard
    • Players can no longer get stuck after respawning in the Vault.
  • Terminal
    • Adjusted spawn points near guards to prevent unfavorable spawn conditions in Team Deathmatch and Domination.

MODES

  • Gun Game
    • The placeholder image has been removed from the Statistics tab of the Scoreboard.
  • Operation Spearhead (War)
    • Dropping consumables (upgrading in the field) no longer destroys the tank and causes a stalemate.

WEAPONS & APPLICATIONS

“Submachine guns”

  • AMP9
    • Once unlocked, you can use the JAK Ettin Double Barrel Kit.
  • WSP-9
    • Incompatible hybrid optical attachments can no longer be used.

» Pistols «

  • TYR
    • Once unlocked, you can use the JAK Beholder rifle attachment.

EQUIPMENT

  • Scatter Mine (Tactical)
    • Explosion damage reduced to 1 to prevent lethality in hardcore modes.
      • Note. This change does not apply to main modes.

MURDER

  • Remote Turret
    • Changing the position of a turret will no longer cause it to be more vulnerable to incoming damage than intended.

CUSTOMIZATION

  • Improved color coverage of the white accent camo of the Atlanta FaZe 2024 camo.

ZOMBIE

WEAPON

“Ethereal Blade”

  • Addressed an issue that caused players to lose their Ethereal Blade if thrown and hit by a Reaper’s orb.
  • Fixed duplication exploit related to ammo caches.

GAMEPLAY

Weekly Challenges

  • Week 4
    • Fixed an issue where the “Destroy 5 vehicles with recommended weapon” mission was not being tracked.

General

  • Resolved an issue where the maximum ammo capacity for some weapons was inconsistent between Urzikstan and Dark Aether Rift.

UIX

Weapon

  • Resolved an issue where the Gutter Knife would not display correctly in the weapon selection menu.

PROGRESS

  • Camouflage to complete MWII
    • Resolved an issue that prevented some players from completing the MWII weapon camouflage challenges after the MWIII Season 1 update.

STABILITY

  • Added various crash and stability fixes.
