Gulag sound issue in Warzone 2
Loud spectator footsteps have been a problem throughout the lifecycle of Warzone 1, but the developers fixed it back in the June Season 4 update. However, in Al-Mazra, he returned with a vengeance, as the spectator’s footsteps often sound like they are in the Gulag with you, which makes it extremely difficult to guess whether this is your opponent or just someone running from above.
After the May 24 update, when the developers banned the use of the thermal imager in ranked games, Raven Software confirmed that it is “investigating an issue that causes players to hear the footsteps of spectators during a Gulag match.”
They added the issue to their Twitter page , tagging it as “investigation”. There is no timeline for when the issue will be fixed, and while there may be a small update or two ahead of time, the next major update is Season 4 in June.
While players were happy to see this issue finally being acknowledged, some were disappointed that it took so long. One Redditor called it “proof the devs aren’t playing this game” because “it’s been going on for months and they’re only [realizing] now.”
“I really needed to check the date of this tweet,” another player replied. “This has been going on for YEARS.”
Rest assured, this issue is on Raven Software’s radar right now and we should expect a fix in the coming weeks, along with other issues they are investigating such as ranked players not getting SR for their latest kill.
