For unconfirmed reports in MW2 and Warzone, players will receive a ban.

One of the ways players can help RICOCHET is through the reporting system, but unfortunately some players feel the need to spam player reports that may not even be cheating, and this can do more harm than good.

So, in order to counter the spam reports, the developers have announced on their anti-cheat update blog that they have decided to add “malicious activity reports” to their “Security and Enforcement Policy”.

Essentially, this means that  those who “knowingly” send false or spam reports, “legitimate players” can be subject to account penalties  , “up to and including warnings or permanent account bans.”

In other words, if you report a player who is clearly not a cheater, you will receive a penalty that could potentially result in you being banned for a certain amount of time. The purpose of this is to prevent players from intentionally providing false reports.

This was also accompanied by some other changes, such as “in-game notifications”, which were rewritten for greater clarity so that players can better understand if “action or investigation” is taking place.

They also went on to say that adjustments are being made to the automated penalty system, which includes limits on voice and text chat.
