TrueGameData proves that weapons in Warzone 2 deal 40% more damage than in MW2

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 share weapons , but it has been found that weapons can behave quite differently in the two modes.

Warzone 2 YouTube blogger and weapon stats expert TrueGameData has proven that weapons can deal different amounts of damage in Warzone 2 than in Modern Warfare 2, with one particular weapon dealing 40% more damage.

While Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard weapons had to be ported to the original Warzone, Warzone 2 only uses Modern Warfare 2 weapons in one unified engine. The developers kept the balance of weapons in patches, so it was assumed that the weapons behave the same way.

However, Warzone weapon stats expert TrueGameData found that weapons have a “drastic increase” in damage in Warzone 2 compared to Modern Warfare 2, and there could be more.

We’re talking about the X12 pistol that you drop with at the start of Warzone 2 matches. It turns out that this weapon is much more powerful in Warzone 2 than it is in Modern Warfare 2.

Within 15 meters, the X12 deals 29 damage per shot in multiplayer. But in Warzone 2, it deals a whopping 41 damage. This trend continues, with the X12 doing more damage in Warzone 2 than in Modern Warfare 2 at every range. It also has nothing to do with armor plates as it does the same amount of damage to both body and armor.

However, not every weapon has a different damage profile between Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. TrueGameData also tested the TAQ-56, 556 Icarus and VEL 46 and found no inconsistencies. He said that the M4 had one “weird damage value” but needed more testing.

We won’t know for sure until TrueGameData does some testing, and we may get more clarification with the Season 2 update, which is expected on February 1st.
