RICOCHET that knocks out hackers with a “hallucination” in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2

Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 players who are suspected of being cheated or hacked by RICOCHET will now see “decoy symbols” in the game that can only be detected by cheaters.

These decoy characters are similar to Mirage from Apex Legends, as they will mimic a real player in a match to “disorient cheaters in various ways”.

It is important to clarify that only cheaters will see these decoys and that “hallucinations” will not “affect a legitimate player’s goal, progression, end-of-match stats, or overall gameplay.”

According to the Call of Duty blog, these hallucinations will “look, move and interact with the world like a real player”, and instead of being AI, they will be “a clone of the active user in the match”.

The idea is that these clones will “deceive the scammer into believing that the character he sees is the real player.” The hallucination can be “hidden and placed anywhere relative to the suspicious player in the world”.

This is another creative implementation of RICOCHET to try and thwart the cheaters as best as possible.
