RICOCHET Anti-Cheat Update in MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3
On April 4, the Call of Duty Blog revealed all the updates and changes coming to RICOCHET in Season 3 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.
The most notable update is RICOCHET’s new ability to detect fraudsters using third-party hardware . As veterans of the Call of Duty community already know, this includes the infamous Cronus software for controllers.
While the blog focuses on upcoming changes to RICOCHET in Season 3, it confirms that third-party cheat detection is already active in both games: “Testing completed: this detection is rolling out globally across all platforms.”
If a Modern Warfare 2 or Warzone 2 player is found to be using third party hardware devices to gain an unfair advantage, they will see a warning in the game menu. If the player continues to use these devices, it will result in “additional warnings, deployment of mitigation measures, suspension of the account or feature, or suspension of the offending account.”
Another new feature at the disposal of the RICOCHET team is the Replay research tool, which will allow them to view captured data from Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 matches.
The RICOCHET team believes that the detection of unscrupulous third party hardware and this new Replay tool will allow them to block and eliminate more cheaters from Call of Duty games in Season 3.
