Developers explain why they didn’t nerf Signal 50 in Warzone 2 Season 5

In Warzone 2 Season 5, the developers decided not to nerf the current sniper rifle meta after several requests from players and shared an explanation why  .

The popularity of the Signal 50 sniper rifle has skyrocketed over the past few months, becoming almost indispensable for World Series of Warzone players participating in the $1.2 million tournament.

Its rise in popularity during Season 4 has led many players to expect that a huge nerf to Signal 50 could come with the Warzone 2 Season 5 update.

To the surprise of many, Season 5’s patch notes revealed that Signal 50 had not been nerfed. Instead, the developers themselves provided an explanation for their decision to refrain from making any changes to Signal 50.

They acknowledged that while their data shows the Signal 50’s performance falling within the normal range, they understand that “the impact it has on the player experience is critical.”

Despite players’ expectations, the developers have stated that they “do not consider it necessary to make changes to Signal 50” at this time. However, they assured players that they would be “closely monitoring both data and feedback” in order to make informed decisions in the future.

This news may not be well received, especially in Warzone ranked modes where Signal 50 is becoming more and more dominant in the meta.
