Players are asking the developers of Modern Warfare 2 to introduce a card voting system

Early Call of Duty games simply didn’t have map voting. But over time, everything changed, and players could vote for one of two random cards, and sometimes for three cards.

However,  Modern Warfare 2  has gone a step further in this regard and made it so that the matchmaking system simply automatically selects one of the game’s many lobby maps.

With one or two maps not as popular as the others, MW2 players feel that the developers should add a map voting feature in case one of those maps shows up to save players leaving the lobby immediately.

Modern Warfare 2 Reddit user fin464 made this clear in a recent post: “Please add a voting system.”

“This is the only card that I genuinely despise so much that I just walk away when I see it. All the rest are playable, but I’ve had enough on cars in my life,” said one of the players.

There’s also the belief that quitting doesn’t work anyway: “I always go back to the same map if I back out of the lobby, anyone else?” explained one player.

On the contrary, the developers have stated in the past that the reason for the lack of a map vote is that certain maps in the game will play less, and one player seems to vouch for this: “If there was a vote, we would be playing the same a couple of cards all the time and I would have preferred some variety for better or worse. The best solution would be to have a separate playlist with some of your favorite maps.”

Also, it seems like matchmaking isn’t necessarily high on the Modern Warfare 2 developer agenda, so it might be a while before we see it implemented, or perhaps never.
