Modern Warfare 2 Weapon Platforms Explained

Modern Warfare 2’s new weapon platform feature means that not every weapon is unlocked through rank. You will actually need to go through the weapon tree to unlock all the weapons on this platform.

For example, to unlock weapons like the FTAC Recon and 556 Icarus, you need to reach at least level 14 with the M4. Then, to unlock M16, you need to reach level 14 with 556 Icarus.

Certain accessories and camos will be available across the Platform, making it much faster and easier to level up these weapons.

All of these weapons are currently on a separate platform and can be unlocked simply by reaching a high enough rank or sector in the Battle Pass. Weapons may be added to platforms as they become available, so we’ll be sure to keep you updated if any platforms are expanded.
