The AMR9 started its career as a “jack of all trades” type of weapon, it was decent at close range, decent at mid and long range, but never excelled in any one area. Today, this opinion has long been refuted, as the popularity of the AMR9 is rapidly growing among players using completely different builds of the same weapon.
The AMR9 is a devastating melee weapon capable of tearing apart an entire lobby of enemy fighters in the right environment.
Competition for the best submachine guns in Modern Warfare 3 is fierce, and the AMR9 is nowhere near the top. But with the right attachments, players can take the underrated AMR9 to new heights and compete with the HRM-9 and WSP-9.

The ZEHMN35 Compensated Flash Hider and Bruen Heavy Support Grip make the SMG incredibly easy to control. These improvements to accuracy and recoil control are vital as the Demo D50 Buffer Tube dramatically reduces gun control. While the Demo D50 Buffer Tube may impair your recoil control, it significantly increases ADS speed and speeds up your rate of fire, offsetting any negative characteristics. The Phantom Grip further increases the AMR9’s rate of fire, making up for its main drawback, which is well below average for a submachine gun. We chose the NYDAR Model 2023 as a clean optic that fits the AMR9 perfectly, and the 50-round magazine would be a useful addition.
The Semtex will allow you to deal heavy damage to enemies, and the Flash Grenade will allow you to swoop in for an easy kill after disorienting an enemy.
