Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 Update
As Activision has confirmed, Modern Warfare 2 Season 4 will release on Wednesday, June 14 , 2023 at 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM BST .
Modern Warfare 2 players will receive six new maps at the start of Season 4 and one additional map with a mid-season update.

Call of Duty players will recognize the classic Showdown map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Two main maps, two Gunfight maps and two battle maps will be available starting June 14th.
With the Season 4 update, Modern Warfare 2 introduces three new weapons. The Tempus Razorback assault rifle is expected to be the jack of all trades in MW2. Meanwhile, ISO 45 is “a throwback to Modern Warfare (2019)” and is said to work similarly to its counterpart. Both the new AR and the submachine gun will be available through the Battle Pass.

Meanwhile, players will have to take part in the Vondel event starting in Season 4 to unlock the Tonfa melee weapon.
Operator Nikto will appear as a playable operator in Season 4 of Modern Warfare 2. This character will be familiar to fans of Modern Warfare 2019, as he was the special forces operator of the Allegiance faction in this game.

Some Modern Warfare 2 playlists are getting updates to increase the number of players in the lobby. This decision was made after the developers reported that the Mosh Pit 10v10 playlist was successful due to the increase in the number of lobbies.
The blog states that Season 4 ” introduces a 12v12 search and destroy mode, as well as a 12v12 prisoner rescue mode .”
The developers have confirmed that the standard versions of these modes will be playable via Quick Play.
