Infinity Ward has yet to officially announce when Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 will begin , but we expect it to begin on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. That’s when the Season 2 Battle Pass expires, which should indicate that the new season will start on the same day.
Big updates like this usually go live around 9:00 AM PT / 12:00 AM ET / 5:00 PM BST , so we expect it to be the same this time around.
However, as we saw in Season 2, the developers are willing to delay if they’re not quite ready, so we’ll be sure to update this section as soon as more details come out.
The FJX Imperium Intervention Sniper is finally coming to the third season of Modern Warfare 2. After the iconic sniper rifle leaked through the datamining, the developers have confirmed that the 2009 FJX Imperium Intervention Modern Warfare 2, also known as the FJX Imperium in the 2022 title, will arrive via the Season 3 Battle Pass.
Players can unlock the FJX Imperium with Battle Pass Tokens once Season 3 arrives. There are usually at least two weapons that appear in the Battle Pass, so we’ll let you know which weapons are coming with the Invasion when it’s announced.
The developers have revealed that Invasion will return for Season 3, and they have also released a teaser for a new 6v6 map called Pelayo’s Lighthouse.
The Pelayo Lighthouse appeared in the Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 teaser, so it’s safe to expect the map to arrive with the next update. The new 6v6 map has a dark terrain with a rainy atmosphere and tons of fog.
Along with the launch of Season 2, Infinity Ward has confirmed that gunplay mode will arrive during Modern Warfare 2 Season 3.
This popular playlist was first introduced in Modern Warfare 2019, in which two-man squads fight each other in a death match that only lasts 40 seconds. 1v1 and 3v3 variants were also added later, and this mode was introduced in Black Ops Cold War as well as CoD Mobile.
He was noticeably missing at the launch of Modern Warfare 2, but should return in Season 3 with his own maps. The developers have also confirmed that new Gunfight maps will appear in each new season.
Nothing has yet been confirmed for Modern Warfare 2 Season 3 at the time of writing, but much more is expected to arrive. Each new season tends to bring certain new additions every time without fail.
