Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Patch Notes.

The Call of Duty team has announced that the Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 update is scheduled for  Wednesday, February 15  ,  2022  . These seasonal updates typically arrive around  10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET / 6:00 PM GMT.

Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Game Coming to Season 2

Modern Warfare 2’s ranked game is  coming with Season 2, according to the developers  . Treyarch also confirmed that the ranked game will indeed arrive on launch day on February 15, and not later in the season as part of a mid-season update.

In the meantime, fans of competitive Call of Duty can quench their thirst by playing the CDL Moshpit playlist.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 new weapons

The second season of Modern Warfare 2 will bring five new weapons to the game, including the  ISO Hemlock assault rifle  ,  KV Broadside shotgun  ,  Dual Kodachis  ,  crossbow ,  and  Tempus Torrent marksman rifle  .

The first three weapons listed above will be available in the Season 2 Update on February 15, and you can find them as free rewards in the Battle Pass. While the Tempus Torrent Marksman Rifle will be a mid-season addition.

The crossbow will require players to complete a number of tasks. In the Way of the Ronin event, players will have to complete seven challenges to unlock the crossbow.

Most players will want to try out the ISO Hemlock Assult Rifle: “The powerful and advanced rifle from Expedite Firearms is designed to work with both 5.56 caliber and .300 BLK subsonic ammunition, providing an advantage on the battlefield in any situation.”

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 New Game Modes

Infected, Gun Game,  Grind  ,  Drop Zone  ,  All or Nothing  , and  One in the Chamber  will appear in Modern Warfare 2 in Season 2, along with the previously announced Hardcore and Ranked Play.

The long-awaited Gun Game, Infected and Grind will arrive with the update on the first day. Meanwhile, Drop Zone, All or Nothing, and One in Chamber will only be coming to the game with a mid-season update.

Gun Game is a classic Call of Duty party game where players participate in a free-for-all match where players get a new weapon for every kill. The first person to get a kill with each weapon wins, usually ending in something unique like a crossbow or ballistic knife.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Hardcore Mode

Since players are not completely satisfied with the presence of level 1 in Modern Warfare 2, a full-fledged hardcore mode is being added to MW2.

Level 1 felt more like the realism mode introduced in Modern Warfare 2019, while the hardcore mode will retain its original identity from previous CoD titles.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 new maps

Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 will feature four new maps, including  the Valderas Museum  ,  Zaya Observatory  ,  Alik Malik International ,  and  the Dome  .

New maps of the second season:

• Dome (6 by 6)
• Valderas Museum (6×6)
• Zaya Observatory (combat map)
• Al Malik International (Battle Card)

Al Malik International and Zaya Observatory will update the combat maps of the game.

Meanwhile, players will recognize the Valderas Museum from the beta version of Modern Warfare 2. The map was removed from the game before launch and will return in Season 2.

Call of Duty fans will also be familiar with Dome as it “bears a striking resemblance to one of the classic  Call of Duty maps  “.

It has already been confirmed that the  remake of the classic Castle map will not be coming to Modern Warfare 2  with the Season 2 Update. The leaked images of Castle matched the new Asika Island spawn map for Warzone 2.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Ronin Operator

A familiar face returns in Modern Warfare 2 as key Season 2 art revealed that  Ronin  will be making an appearance with the Season 2 update.

Call of Duty fans are open about their need for realistic military operatives in Modern Warfare 2, and Ronin falls into that category.

Modern Warfare 2 Raid Episode 2

After players get a taste of Modern Warfare 2’s raids with Atomgrad, Season 2 will see a second episode. However, this new raid episode will appear later in the second season.

“Price, Farah and Gaz will return later in Season 2 Episode 2 of The Raid, a continuation of the  Modern Warfare II campaign .”

Modern Warfare 2 UI Update Coming in Season 2

These changes include the following:

• Improved navigation and organization of the Camo menu.
• Improved Social tab including improved channel switching and player mute.
• New “My Packages” screen
• Quick Gear items from Battlepass, My Bundles and Store.
• Grid preview in shop and gunsmith
• Improved clarity of attachment blocking logic in Gunsmith.
• And many other bug fixes

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Perk Balance

In a Season 2 blog post, the developers state that they have listened to community feedback on “time bonus perks”, specifically the Ghost.

So, to address this issue, they have decided to reduce the time it takes for players to get both the bonus and ultimate perks, meaning that players will get the Ghost earlier in matches, which they feel better supports those who want to play more aggressively.

Modern Warfare 2 Sound Fixes

Sound in Modern Warfare 2 is getting some fixes as the game’s sound occlusion system is getting a “newer and more advanced system”. This should make it easier for players to hear enemies and other audio cues through objects like walls.
