How does DMZ mode work in Warzone 2.0

Battle Royale is one of the many modes players are talking about so much in Warzone 2.0. There is a new game mode, DMZ, based on the escape shooter formula popularized by games like Escape from Tarkov. Players land at random spots on the large map of Al Mazra, gather resources, complete objectives, and eliminate players – all while trying to get to the loot safe and sound. That’s all you need to know about how DMZ mode works in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 .

What is DMZ in Warzone 2

The DMZ mode in Warzone 2.0 is an action-packed  survival shooter based on the vast map  of Al Mazra . Players are taken to random spawn points on the map and must try to survive and make it to the evacuation. Along the way, you and your team can complete the tasks of various  factions  or participate in  world events marked on the map to get extra money and loot. Additionally, loot can be picked up from loot caches or found as ground loot in buildings.

The main gaming aspect of the DMZ is survival. Not only will the map be swarming with AI enemies, but there’s also always the threat of other players hungry for your loot. In the DMZ, death means losing all the non-permanent loot you may have collected so far in the course of the game. Therefore, you should always weigh the risk/reward ratio and choose your prey if necessary.

What are factions in the DMZ in Warzone 2.0

There are three factions in the DMZ:  Legion ,  White Lotus  , and  Black Mouse . These factions will have a set of missions that you must complete in the game. Missions can be anything from opening a certain number of loot caches to clearing enemy strongholds. Completing faction missions will give players a lot   of experience   and unique  weapon blueprints   for permanent use. Initially, you will only have access to missions from the Legion faction. However, after completing a few missions, you will be able to access additional missions of the White Lotus and Black Mouse factions.

Contracts and world activities in DMZ Warzone 2.0

Like the Battle Royale modes, you’ll have plenty of contracts and world activities in the DMZ that you can complete for extra money and experience. Below are the types of activities that you can participate in either alone or as a team.

Contracts

  • Liquidation
  • Hostage
  • Intel/Geiger Safe Search
  • Delivery / Shipment of cargo
  • Hunting
  • Destroy supplies

World activity

  • Safes
  • Hidden caches
  • UAV towers
  • SAM sites
  • fortresses

How Looting Works in the DMZ in Warzone 2.0

Looting is a key aspect to focus on when fighting in the DMZ in Warzone 2.0. Unlike Battle Royale, all items you pick up in the game go straight into your backpack, including ammo, collectibles, money, or any gear. Once successfully retrieved from the DMZ, you can access these items from your storage and equip them for future deployments. However, all non-permanent items disappear from your inventory upon death.

How DMZ uploads work in Warzone 2.0

Equipment in Warzone also works differently. In this game mode, players can equip their gear with the following items:

  • Two main weapons
  • Fatal
  • Tactical
  • Field update

At the beginning of the game, players will have access to  contraband weapons . These are weapons that players can pick up in the game by picking up items or picking up items from enemy backpacks. You will lose contraband weapons from your inventory if you die on the battlefield before being retrieved. However, players can also unlock insured weapon slots  by completing faction missions. Insured weapons are not lost upon death, but are blocked from use for a certain amount of time.

How to play it?

  • Play from quests. The DMZ has a huge number of mechanics and synergies that are extremely well revealed in quests.
  • Actively use the insurance slot.
  • Use keychains and quests.
  • Actively use field improvements. The ammo box is not only ammo, but also a set of grenades + tactical devices. If you remove the grenades in your inventory, the box will restore +2 grenades/attachments.
  • Learn how contracts work. Need a safe evacuation? Rescue the hostage and escape with the rescue helicopter.
  • Don’t underestimate AI. They do not shine with intelligence, but they shoot very painfully. It is better to avoid contact with special forces.
