Goodbye Caldera. Activision has officially announced that the beloved Warzone Caldera servers will be permanently shut down.
Activision has announced that the Warzone Caldera servers will be shut down on September 21, 2023 .
“As Warzone moves forward with exciting new experiences, Warzone Caldera will close on September 21, 2023. All Caldera gameplay, player progress, inventory and online services will expire on this date.”
This decision to shut down Warzone’s original servers is likely to spark emotion in the community, who have come to love the Caldera map, even if it hasn’t been universally accepted.
Unfortunately, players will no longer have access to skins and weapons they have purchased or earned in Warzone Caldera once the closure goes into effect.
These items, which are still available in the core Modern Warfare 2019 , Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard games, will not be available in Warzone: “As for purchased content in Warzone Caldera – from Modern Warfare (2019), Black Ops Cold War or Vanguard “It will continue to be available in those specific games.”
Interestingly, in March 2023, we saw a resurgence of professional players and content creators returning to Warzone Caldera, who expressed their delight in the intricate map movement and complex skill gap. However, this rally was short-lived as the introduction of Seasons 3 Reloaded and Warzone 2 Ranked Play helped bring these players back.
