Expected release date for the new map, and more in Warzone 2

A major addition is expected with the Warzone 2 Season 4 update as sources have revealed that a new map called Vondel will debut.

According to sources, Vondel is a new Warzone 2 map  set in the Netherlands  .

On May 10, a leak showed players the first image of the Vondel card before it was removed due to the DMCA. The image showed an urban residential area and a windmill next to a river. This place is very different from the Al-Mazra sand map. Finally, on May 31, sources confirmed the information about the new map. It looks like Beenox has developed Vondel and it should come with Resurgence support.

While Vondel is expected to have the Resurgence mechanic at launch, the same sources said that “Vondel should also have Battle Royale mode support at some point after its launch.”

This will be the first time two BR maps can be played at the same time in the Warzone rotation. In addition to supporting BR, Vondel is expected to “support DMZ at some point , according to sources.” The developers  haven’t revealed exactly when Vondel is due to appear  in Warzone 2, but sources have said he will arrive with the  June 14, 2023 Season 4 update  .

Vondel’s release date is rumored to be fast approaching and Warzone 2 leaks have begun to surface revealing map POIs. Vondel is expected to be smaller than Al Mazra, but still larger than Asika Island, so there’s plenty of room for interesting locations.

While the full reveal of the new Resurgence map is yet to come, an image from the now-deleted soundtrack titled “Sound of Vondel” gave players a first look at a new aerial shot of the new battlefield.

It doesn’t offer too much new information, but fans can choose from several of the POIs mentioned above, especially the stadium in the south of the map, should wait for Activision to provide more information on Vondel. Once they announce a confirmed release date for the map and release official images, we’ll be sure to let you know.
