Controversy over the “weird” skins of operators-cats in Warzone and MW2
The Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 store has a new Whisker Tango set that transforms Gus into a human-sized cat.
Operator skins sometimes cause a buzz in the community, whether it’s because of their appearance or the in-game benefits they bring. Now another skin has divided the community, and many consider it “out of place” in Call of Duty. On July 23, the Whisker Tango bundle went on sale in the Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 store.
Many players quickly embraced the new skins, calling them some of the “best” in gaming to date. Others joked that they never knew they wanted to collaborate with Stray. That said, there were others who criticized the Whisker Tango kit, claiming that it robbed the games of much of the realism.
What the hell is going on with this game, mmm,” wrote a famous streamer, while another agreed: “Such a fucking stupid game is officially dead. I’d love to get my $75 back if I’d known in season 1 that that’s what the game was going to be like.”
The Sprinkles skins are hardly the first animal operators to upset the community, as the Rat Pack received similar complaints back in Season 3 Reloaded. Don’t be surprised if Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 have new cosmetic items coming to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 in the coming months.
