What is a Modern Warfare 3 tactical stance?
Modern Warfare 3 releases November 10, 2023
Developer Sledgehammer Games is bringing back a lot of classic features like slide undo and an old-school mini-map, but there are plenty of new features as well. This includes the Tac-Stance move, which can have a big impact on multiplayer matches.
The new Tac-Stance feature in Modern Warfare 3 allows players to choose between accuracy and mobility in various situations.
Tac-Stance is: Operators “shoulder their weapons and hold them in a tilted firing position” similar to the tilted lasers found in MW2. In a Modern Warfare 3 blog post, the developers described it as “the perfect middle ground between hip-fire and aiming”.
The tactical stance is designed for close combat, sacrificing some accuracy for increased mobility and faster handling. Although there will be some spread when firing in this mode, the shots are not as wild as normal hipfire. This feature “balances mobility and accuracy, allowing for evasive maneuvers and aggressive combat.
It’s also the default firing mode during lateral movement, ensuring players aren’t at a disadvantage trying to stay mobile. It is unclear if this feature will work with all weapons or if it will be limited to automatic weapons such as assault rifles and submachine guns.
PS A lot of the complaints about Modern Warfare 3 circulate around the fact that it’s not enough to separate it from its predecessor. Aside from the new campaign, which is admittedly the most groundbreaking in the game, the multiplayer appears to have been updated with a few bells and whistles. Take them away and it feels like it’s the same Call of Duty as before – and fans are understandably upset about it.
