Modern Warfare 2 Free Trial: 7 days, 2.5 hours, is this a joke?

Activision has decided to introduce another free trial for  Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer  , allowing those who don’t own the game to experience the game from September 13 to 20.

Not only does this give gamers who don’t play Call of Duty a chance to try it out, but it also gives Warzone players who don’t have MW2 the opportunity to enjoy multiplayer.

A free trial period can entice new players to buy the game. Even if they don’t buy MW2, they might be more inclined to buy Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty’s next premium release, due out on November 10, 2023.

But….

As stated in the fine print of the promotional image, the Modern Warfare 2 free trial  only allows players to enjoy 2.5 hours of playtime  , and this is the first time they’ve done so.

TheGhostOfHope, a popular figure in the Call of Duty community, called the time limit a “weird feature.” Others also shared a similar sentiment, with one comment saying: “Limited to 2.5 hour matches – what a joke lol”

Despite having access to 12 maps and 11 modes, players clearly feel that the MW2 free trial is flawed due to its short time limit. The trial runs for seven days, and players clearly feel that 2.5 hours is not enough: “7 days, 2.5 hours total, damn.”

It’s possible the backlash will prompt a backlash from developers, but with the lawsuit already underway, it’s unlikely that much will change.
